Who is 'The Iceman' Wim Hof?

From circus act to scientific breakthrough and global health leader.

Iceman origins

Now a leading figure in health & wellness, Wim Hof first rose to fame through a series of record-breaking feats of endurance, all themed around the cold. He set a total of 26 world records, earning him the moniker “the Iceman”.

Some of his most standout achievements include:

  • Running a half marathon above the Arctic Circle, barefoot and wearing only shorts
  • Swimming a length of 66 meters underneath a thick sheet of ice
  • Hanging on one finger at an altitude of 2,000 meters
  • Running a full marathon in the Namib Desert without water
  • Standing in a container while covered in ice cubes for almost 2 hours

A Method for Everyone

All of these accomplishments are statements about how much more we are capable of. How much we are leaving on the table by not pushing our body and mind to what they are designed to withstand, and how much Mother Nature gives back when you do seek out that connection.

Decades of research into the Wim Hof Method has shown the wealth of mental and physical benefits we are afforded when we consistently stimulate our body with the right amount of chill.

Today, Wim Hof is the face of a worldwide movement. Millions across the globe are savvy to the power of the cold — practicing Wim Hof’s Method daily, and regaining the health, strength & happiness that modern comfort has slowly eroded.
